MultiMedia Week 2005 - SJUFF Film Lab & Indie Chats
Tuesday  
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm SJUFF Film Lab

An interactive educational series that take's the filmmaker from script to screen in this 3 day series.  Attendees will get a taste of the REEL thing by having the opportunity to make a movie.
The SJUFF FILM LAB Intensive workshop series will be a three-day course designed to teach new filmmakers the art of shooting a scene from a major motion picture. 10 participants will be broken into 2 groups of 5 people. Copies of reel will be provided for participating members They will receive instruction from leading industry professionals in the three primary stages of film production, which will include 

Session I. Pre Production: Attendees will get the opportunity to review a major motion picture script, select a scene and learn how to analyze the Breakdown, Pacing etc and prepare it for the production phase.
Scene review, script selection, Crew prep, production prep, and rehearsals,

Wednesday  
9:00 am - 1:00 pm SJUFF Film Lab - Group A

Session II - Production:

What really goes on during a Production shoot. From Camera techniques , Lighting , Sound and Trouble shooting. Everything you need to know is covered here as you get a chance to sit in the director's chair
Camera and Sound Equipment usage, staging and blocking for actors. Shooting techniques and basic lighting.

2:00 pm - 6:00 pm SJUFF Film Lab - Group B

Session II - Production:

What really goes on during a Production shoot. From Camera techniques , Lighting , Sound and Trouble shooting. Everything you need to know is covered here as you get a chance to sit in the director's chair

Thursday  
9:00 am - 1:00 pm SJUFF Film Lab - (Room A & B)

Session III - Post Production:

Digitizing and Tape logging. Basic scene conforming. Editing and exporting to tape.

2:30 pm - 5:30 pm Indie Chat Session - "Film"

Are you a filmmaker or writer hoping to sell your idea, story, or screenplay to Hollywood buyers?  Participants get to pitch their story ideas to entertainment industry executives who will critique their concept/idea to examine it's commercial potential in today's industry marketplace.

Friday  
10:00 am - 1:00 pm Screenwriter's Workshop

Talented and working writers will share their experiences and strategies for drafts, polishes, rewrites, and final drafts, and give information on the proper ways to get your script in the right persons hands.

2:30 pm - 5:30 pm Indie Chat Session - "Music"

Are you a musician or songwriter hoping to land a deal with a major music company?  Participants get to pitch their songs to top music entertainment industry executives who will critique their concept/idea/music to examine it's commercial potential in today's music industry marketplace.

Saturday  
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm The Working Actor and the Camera

An intensive learning opportunity for the adult actor interested in cultivating greater on-camera opportunities. Reality based approaches to dealing with audition variables and delivering honest / believable on-camera performances. Technical insights for working quickly and successfully on fast paced film and television sets. Reels will be provided for participating actors. Space is limited to 20 students only. Pre-Registration is required.

PLEASE NOTE: Not available with Multi Media Week Pass.
