Agents, Managers And Entertainment Lawyers Give Insight On Their Roles. The industry's top representatives discuss the differences and similarities in an agent, entertainment lawyer, and manager.  Top questions will be answered: "How do you solicit representation?  "Why do you need them on your side?"  "What characteristics do you avoid/look for in a representative? And, "When is it necessary to hire someone?"

1:00 pm - 2:30 pm The Color of Independent Film Distribution

An insightful exploration of the new "color" of independent filmmaking as we provides an insider's look at the business of making independent urban films.  Issues involved are financing, producing, and packaging, selling and distributing a commercially viable urban film. This panel will also explore the growing number of studio independent divisions; first look deals, and producers working inside and outside the studio system.  Have the boundaries between the studio world and the independent world been completely erased?  How can an independent filmmaker stay "truly" independent and find an audience?  This session will focus on the state of affairs between the independent and studio realms.
